With a background in entertainment journalism that dates back to 2010, Andy has carved out a niche covering the superhero and comic book genres. His experience spans various platforms, including FanSided, KSiteTV, TV Fanatic, It's Just Movies, Heroic Hollywood, and more. In addition to his writing career, he hosts "The Showrunner Whisperer," "The Flash Podcast," serves as the editor-in-chief for Multiverse of Color, and directs the DC TV Podcasts network.

When discussing the realm of superhero films, Sam Raimi is a well-known figure thanks to his influential role in bringing iconic comic book narratives to life in Hollywood. Not only is he credited with creating the original Spider-Man trilogy, but he also directed one of the prominent figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange.

Recently, Raimi sat down for an interview with Total Film, where he candidly expressed a significant regret regarding his 2022 film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He emphasized the remarkable talent of actress Rachel McAdams, stating, "First, she was the perfect person because she’s such a brilliant actress.”

Raimi elaborated on his experience working with McAdams, saying, "I had a chance to collaborate with her on my last film and realized how incredibly talented she is and, frankly, underutilized." He referenced her character, Christine Palmer, who appears in a variant form in the film. "I promised myself that I would work with her again after witnessing her warmth and skill," he added, highlighting the emotional depth she brings to her roles. Currently, McAdams is starring alongside Dylan O'Brien in the film Send Help, which is now showing in theaters.

In an intriguing revelation, Raimi noted that McAdams has not yet played a dark, sinister villain in her career, a point brought to his attention by producer Zainab Azizi. He believes this aspect could lead to a surprising experience for audiences.

Despite Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness achieving an impressive $955 million at the global box office, there are no official plans for a third installment from Marvel Studios at this moment. Given the upcoming slate of Marvel films for Phase 6, it seems that a sequel may be on hold until after The Multiverse Saga concludes.

Although Doctor Strange 3 isn’t officially in development, fans can look forward to seeing Stephen Strange return soon. Benedict Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with filming for the Phase 6 finale slated to begin this summer, led by the Russo brothers.

Currently, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available on home media and streaming platforms, while Raimi's latest project, Send Help, is now in theaters.
