Nate Diaz's Return: Chasing the 'BMF' Title and Unfinished Business (2026)

Get ready for some serious sports drama! Nate Diaz, the combat sports legend, is making waves again. He's dropped some hints about reclaiming his throne as the 'baddest motherf*cker' in the game, and it's got everyone talking.

Diaz, a true veteran in the world of combat sports, has a unique story to tell. He played a pivotal role in creating the first-ever 'BMF' title fight back in 2019 when he challenged Jorge Masvidal. And now, he's ready to write the next chapter.

In a recent Twitter post, Diaz reminded everyone that he was the catalyst for the 'BMF' title, which was introduced for his iconic fight against Masvidal at UFC 244. The belt, initially a symbolic gesture, has since taken on a life of its own, with current champion Max Holloway defending it against Charles Oliveira at UFC 326. But Diaz isn't one to shy away from a challenge, and he's making it clear he wants another shot at that title.

"I brought value to the sport and created opportunities for these guys to shine. I started a whole division, and it's the dopest one out there. I've got unfinished business, and I plan to take what's mine ASAP," Diaz wrote. He even posted a photo of the 'BMF' title on Instagram, captioned 'unfinished business.'

While Diaz didn't officially claim the 'BMF' title in his original fight with Masvidal due to the bout being stopped after the third round, he's widely recognized as the creator of the belt and the real 'baddest motherf*cker.'

After his loss to Masvidal in 2019, Diaz stayed in the UFC for two more fights, winning against Tony Ferguson and losing to future welterweight champion Leon Edwards. His contract with the UFC ended after the Ferguson fight, but he's kept busy since, even stepping into the boxing ring twice, including a win over Masvidal in their rematch.

Despite his departure from the UFC, Dana White, the organization's president, has always maintained that Diaz would be welcomed back. And based on Diaz's recent comments, it looks like he might just take up that offer. Could we see Diaz back in the octagon, gunning for the 'BMF' title once more? Only time will tell.

So, what do you think? Is Diaz's return a good move, or is he chasing a title that's already been claimed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
