We all like to receive gifts. Surprisingly enough, most of us also like to give gifts. Giving gifts gives us the feeling of doing something good. It makes us happy to see someone enjoy the fruits of our labors. As strange as it may sound giving gifts can be an emotional pick me up.

Generally we think of only giving gifts for holidays and special events but what at other times and for just no reason at all. Giving a gift when there is no reason is even more special than if there is a reason, particularly if someone is feeling down or needs a friend.

It really is not about the price of gifts. Regardless of cost, gifts have hidden value that cannot be bought. Gifts are a wonderful way to bond a relationship. Family, friend, or significant other, special unexpected gifts enrich and promote growth in a relationship.

No, I am not talking about buying that special someone something everyday. First off, few of us can afford it and secondly, it would almost become expected by the receiver. The giving of gifts I'm talking about is given occasionally for no particular reason. Simply to give.

The concept of giving gifts works wonderfully in the area of marriage. Especially if it seems the honeymoon is over. Try it and you'll see what I mean. Go today and purchase something inexpensive for your spouse. Wrap it and attach a note, "Thinking of my special" or whatever you feel you want to say. After the initial shock, you'll be surprised at how it can change the tone of the relationship for days to come.

Gift giving is all about letting the other person know that you care enough to buy them something special. This makes you seem unselfish, sharing and trustworthy. Your sincerity will go a long way.

You can never realize the full impact of giving gifts until you try it but once you do you will be surprised at how good it makes and other people feel.
